The five-way tie in group 2A for first place, or last place depending on how you look at it, was settled by point difference and then by points for. So, Team R won the group, a place in the League 2 championship quarterfinals and a spot in the tournament #9 championship. Team A2 and Team Q came in second and third place respectively, and will play the third place teams and second place teams from Group 2B in one-game playoffs for league quarterfinal places and tournament championship spots. Team U came in fourth place because it had fewer points for than Team Q.
Team U and Team T played in last scheduled game of the group. Team U had a 2-1 lead late in the game. If they had held on to the lead, they would have won the group. But a late rally by Team T resulted in Team U’s elimination. Unfortunately for Team T, their rally was one point short of avoiding elimination themselves. Had they gotten one more point, they could have vaulted into third place!
